Hawthorne GEAR UP
Latest News
Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) is a federally-funded academic preparation initiative based at CSUDH. The CSUDH Hawthorne GEAR UP grant was awarded in 2017 to serve the high school graduating Class of 2024 attending Hawthorne and Leuzinger High School at Centinela Valley Union High School District (CVUHSD). Our vision is to work in partnership with educational and community institutions to support students, parents, and educators to promote higher education in the schools we serve. GEAR UP is committed to empower students with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to create and navigate their own educational pathway to success.
